The waste we produce costs us. It costs in terms of using natural resources to make the things we eventually waste, and the time and money it takes to create and dispose of the waste.

This means that it is important for us to also focus on how we can prevent creating waste in the first place, and then recover valuable resources from the waste that we have left over.

This doesn't always come naturally, we live in a very consumer focused world, where buying what we want and throwing away what we have become tired off is often the norm. But we can all make small changes that can have a big impact on the amount of waste we create and help us all to live a less wasteful life.
