Make your own fabric shopper! `Plastic bag-free Cockermouth` project

In partnership with National Trust, Riversmeet, West Cumbria Friends of the Earth you are invited to drop into our sewing workshops and make your own reusable fabric shopping bag in a bid to make Cockermouth plastic-bag free! Dates and venues:

All workshops run from 10am to 2pm (on a drop-in basis):

18th May - Wordsworth House and Garden, Cockermouth

2nd June - Riversmeet,Cockermouth

22nd June - Wordsworth House and Garden,Cockermouth

Since it`s World Environment Day, we will be having childrens` activities and general reduce, reuse an recycle advice today. Spin the Bin to Win, colouring and make a bottletop coaster to take home. You can also pick up a free reusable shopping bag.

9th June Kids Clothing Exchange day and Green Cleaning Tips

Bring along your kids outgrown clothes and you can take away any that other people have donated. You don`t have to bring any to take some away. Everything is FREE.

We will also be showing you how to be greener when you are cleaning. easy natural methods that are great for your pocket and the environment. FREE samples of natural detergent Soap Nuts available too

Bring along any good condition clothes and / or books to swap for other items you fancy. This can include men`s, women`s & children`s clothes.
Also in the Pavilion, there will be a Salvation Army textile collection, further information on Right 2 Work, and Tools for Self Reliance.

There will also be a Pop up Bike Maintenance point.
