Cumbria's real nappy revolution

The Cumbria Real Nappy Campaign

Parents in Cumbria can save a packet with free real nappy vouchers worth £45 being given away as part of the Real Nappy Campaign.

The campaign, which is being launched during national Real Nappy Week (21st - 27th April), is aimed at encouraging everyone to try real nappies by giving away money-off vouchers to the value of £45 per child or £70 for two eligible children from the same household. The vouchers can be redeemed at most local real nappy retailers -the full list is at http://www.cumbriarealnappycampaign.org/ (external link)

"We understand that everybody and every baby is different, what`s right for one person might not be right for another. We just want everybody to give them a go. We think people will be pleasantly surprised at how good real nappies are," said Kate Burrows, waste reduction officer at Cumbria County Council.

"All people need to do is sign up, get the free voucher and talk to their preferred retailer about the best real nappy for them and their baby. Easy peasy."

Real Nappy Week in Cumbria (21st - 27th April) and the Cumbria Real Nappy Campaign will also feature a series of events around the county where anyone can come and explore the benefits of using real nappies. There will be plenty of examples of the types of real nappy available and demonstrations showing people how to use the nappies.
